Description
Birchall Earl Grey Tea 25 Enveloped Tea Bags is a deliciously strong breakfast tea bursting with full flavour.
This estate-grown tea is famously bright, fragrant and perfect anytime.
Birchall Earl Grey Tea is a unique, masterful blend closely guarded by the fifth generation of Birchall Graham’s family. Our teas are sourced entirely from estates across East Africa, from Rwanda to the Great Rift Valley in Kenya, where the best teas are found.
Our pursuit of quality ensures that all our leaves are only ever hand-plucked. The leaf, bud and tender stem are carefully pinched in a ‘perfect pick’ and blended with a traditional Bergamot oil to give a distinctive citrus flavour with spicy floral notes.
Our Earl Grey Tea is both Fairtrade Certified and Rainforest Alliance Certified.
This tea is Rainforest Alliance Certified (Minimum Certified Content 30%).
This is how Birchall Earl Grey Tea 25 Enveloped Tea Bags gain their exceptional brightness, golden colour and refreshing solid flavour.
This supreme Earl Grey tea, which is fully Rainforest Alliance Certified™, captures the freshness and delicious taste of Kenya’s Great Rift Valley, one of the most renowned tea-growing regions in the world. It is sourced exclusively from estates across East Africa, from Rwanda to the Great Rift Valley in Kenya, where the best teas are found.
The high altitude, lush volcanic soil and heavy rainfall of this equatorial area combine to create the perfect conditions for growing tea of unparalleled flavour and taste.

Why East Africa Produces The Best Black Teas
We consider our signature black teas exceptional in the tea world and want to tell you why. Our black teas are all sourced exclusively from the finest tea estates across East Africa, from Rwanda to the Great Rift Valley in Kenya; this is generally considered to be where the very best teas are to be found. This equatorial region’s altitude, high rainfall and rich volcanic soil provide the ideal conditions integral to growing tea of unparalleled flavour and taste.
The geography and climate of the area where this tea is grown make it uniquely placed to produce the unparalleled flavour and taste of black tea. This equatorial region’s altitude of 1460-4500 metres above sea level, high rainfall and volcanoes along the Congo-Nile Crest provides the ideal conditions and rich soil integral to growing outstanding tea.
The tea bushes grow high above sea level at a slower rate where the temperature is relatively low, developing more excellent flavour before they are individually hand-picked. The estate provides valuable jobs for people in the area and runs a co-operative for over 2600 farmers.
